Fifteen folks from the NorCal Hiking Group met at the Bovine Bakery in Point Reyes Station, then headed to Point Reyes for a hike and lunch with Theresa, Maria, and Heidi who were camped at Coast Camp. This was the first time out for my new Canon 40D. There's still a lot to learn!
We started at Bear Valley TH and hiked Mt. Wittenberg Trail to Z Ranch Trail to Horse Trail to Fire Lane Trail to Coast Camp. The divas had a beautiful ocean-view site for our lunch. Lots of sweet treats and sweet memories were shared. We came back via Coast Trail to Woodward Valley Trail to Sky Trail to Meadow Trail to Bear Valley Trail. Rebecca's GPS said we ascended 2769 feet and hiked 12.7 miles. I haven't been hiking much since the JMT last summer, so this was a major workout for me, but well worth the effort.
After the hike, we went back to Point Reyes Station for dinner at the Station House Cafe. Quite the menu! Thanks to Paige for organizing everything. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
