Frances Bensyl : Frances was an important part of my life. She was the mom of my second cousins, Judy and Joe. She lived all of her life in the country near the small town of Eagleville, Missouri. When our family went to visit, Frances always made me feel welcome. I loved the country and hated going home to the city. I did some pretty silly things as a city kid in the country, but Frances could laugh at me in a way that made me feel good about myself instead of embarrassed. When I took my young daughter to visit, she didn't want to leave when it was time to go, so Frances invited her to stay the night and offered to put her on the bus to Kansas City the next morning. Frances was a warm and loving woman. She passed away March 10, 2008. We will miss her. Though far away in miles, she was, and always will be, close in our hearts.

Tamara : From my daughter, Psyche: To my friends and family, Tamara Dawn was laid to rest today. She is at peace, graced with the most beautiful resting spot we could ask for. I have one request...............

Please take a minute to think of the beauty and grace that Tamara possessed. Wither she was the spirited horse that gave you a ride you will never forget or the sweet horse that would stop and wait for you to catch up, so that she could trot next to you, she was my girl and my heart is broken. When you read the following poem please send her your loving thoughts as she joins her new herd. Thank you, Psyche

Somewhere in time's own space,
there must be some sweet pastured place
where creeks sing on and tall trees grow,
some paradise where horses go,
for by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again

Kansas City, November 28 - December 4, 2007 : We went to Kansas City to see my sister, Nancy. This trip, we went to museums and art galleries and listened to live music at night. Somehow, I ended up not taking pictures of everything we did, but here's a sample of what I did take.

Salmon Creek, Sonoma County, 12/22/07 : We went to the beach to watch Alex surf. It's impossible to see who's who from the shore, so I took shots of anyone vertical. Turns out I got photos of Tyler -- Alex's friend and classmate at Cal Poly -- and Ben, the husband of one of the teachers where our kids went to elementary school. Fortunately, I also got some shots of Alex. In between sets, I shot the view and the sea gulls. It was good to get to the beach.
